REPAIR OR REPLACE?

If your windshield has a surface chip, but there are no dark spots under the chipped area, it means that the damage has not gone all the way through the first layer of glass, and generally does NOT need to be repaired: this is a cosmetic problem only.

If your windshield has a chip with a dark spot under it that looks like a star, bullseye, half circle, etc., and the total damaged area is smaller that the size of a quarter, it can likely be repaired.

If your windshield has a crack that is smaller than the size of a dollar bill, and is less than 2 months old, it can likely be repaired.

If your windshield is heavily pitted and it is becoming difficult to see through the windshield in sun glare or at night, it should be replaced. There are currently no products on the market to remedy this pitting problem.

If your windshield has a crack longer than the size of a dollar bill, we highly recommend you replace your windshield, as we are not seeing good long-term results with cracks longer than about 6″-8″.
